Q: Does the booth cost include table set up, are the tables skirted, are chairs and
waste basket provided in the cost?
A: The booth cost covers a space roughly 10 ft x 10 ft with one 6 ft table and two 8 ft
tables with two chairs. Trash receptacles will be placed throughout the showroom
but will not be situated in individual booths. Tables will not be skirted. You will
need to provide your own covers. The Convention Center offered them as an option
to us, but it would have driven the booth cost up considerably to the dealers.
Q: Can an additional table be added to the booth 3 table set up?
A: If you would like to bring an additional table for your booth, you are more than
welcome to, as long as you keep it in your booths designated space. The tables
provided are one 6 x 2.5 foot table and two 8 x 2.5 foot tables.
Q: Can merchandise be place on the floor in front of the tables as long as they do not
create a hazard to the public?
A: We try to keep this to a minimum so that it does not encroach into other’s booth
space or the walkway. The Arlington Convention Center is especially picky about
allowing enough walk space between the booths. Our first show there got us in
trouble in that the aisles got jammed with dealer wares. I would say you could put a
few things out, but not get too carried away. We have to be considerate of the show
attendees as well as other dealers.
Q: Is any scale accepted in military merchandise? Are kits such as armor or
warships acceptable or inert military ammo?
A: As with past shows, the majority of toys offered were in 1:6 scale to 1:18 scale
and many were military themed in nature (G.I. Joe, Dragon Models, Soldier Story,
Toy Soldier, DID, etc), but we did have some dealers who also offered science fiction
action figures and the sort. I would, however, avoid any de milled military items
(weapons, ordinance, etc). We do have a WWII re-enactor booth at the show, but we’
have had to get special clearance for them to display their equipment. Big pain to do
it, but people like to see the re-enactors at the show. Dealers wanting to sell scale
models are always welcome. In fact, I’m always asking a friend of mine who sells a
lot of Dragon model kits to come up for I think that those who collect action figures
also have a connection to model building.
Q: Are there any special rates at hotels near the convention center?
A: We have a block of rooms reserved with the Sheraton Hotel for $99 a night. This
hotel is right next to the ACC, and is only separated by a parking lot. In addition the
hotel provides free on site parking for it's guests. Most of our attendees and dealers
stay here and love it. It has been recently renovated and is the best place to stay
since it is right there next to the ACC.
